Sorry for your bad experience.
Just ditch these guys. Not worth your time.
Go with a company rated well in the GBU list!

| Thanks for the advice. I wish I'd seen this site before I signed up with Verizon. Unfortunately I've got 3 months left on my contract with them. As soon as I can, I'll probably go with Vonage. My neighbors have it and they have no complaints. I can't believe Verizon is so crappy. I have their Wireless, FIOS internet and FIOS TV and they're all great. I thought they knew all there was to know about phones - but I guess not. |

| Lots of people do well with Vonage.
I don't have anything against them---I live about 5 miles from their corporate HQ. The grass is well cut.
But please do look at some of the other folks near the top of the GBU list, such as CallCentric. And if you do not use a lot of minutes, consider pay-by-the-minute plans for incoming (DID) and outgoing (termination). Yes, these are choices you can make separately---in and out---which is more freedom than a Vonage-type outfit.
As for Verizon VoiceWing, this is NOT really a service heavily promoted by Verizon, nor is it really run by the core Verizon organization.
And a landline phone company (POTS/PSTN) like Verizon, AT&T, or Qwest of the West, does not really want to undercut their own profitable landline service. |
