DSL Extreme SMTP Servers

I have been speaking with our network operations team over the past few weeks regarding some of the concerns with the outgoing mail servers. We have agreed that we will be leaving up a small cluster of outgoing mail servers using smtp.dslextreme.com that clients will be able to continue to use post the migration. One small caveat is that clients will need to be in one of our local networks in order to send mail through them. Since no users will be tied to the servers it will require that you are on the DSL Extreme network in order to be authorized to send. (ie SMTP auth will not work)

We still highly recommend switching your outgoing mail servers to the new Google platform of smtp.gmail.com. This will give you the best performance and highest level of uptime. If there is a special case that requires you to use the old servers you are welcome to do so at this time.

Thanks
