| RE: Magicjack sucks I read in this forum a post that gave the Billing Phone Number. I had to wait until 11am EST, called and was given a URL (tinyurl.com type) that put me IN the "TechTalk" room. After explaining my problem Dianna was able to answer and FIX my problem..... she said all she did was "refresh" my account phone number... (???). Bottom line....it works. |

 | i have to agree with larry 1, this is the worse piece of crap to ever be unloaded on the american people i'm a retired comp/networking tech. and have seen all manner of junk but this one takes the cake.....
half the time the product didnt work, and the other half if it did work it didnt work correctly as in the person on the other end of the line couldnt hear you even though they sounded fine, etc, ad nauseum, and forget downloading the magicfix that is nothing but a piece of garbage supposely designed to fix problems in the magicjack in reality its nothing but a glorified batch file with no fix included
after spending almost an hour on hold while some technowennie and mj yesman goes back and forth trying to decide whether or not to give me a refund the answer is a resounding no.... will i ever give credance to this wanna-be startup company NO I WONT AND FURTHERMORE.... i dont recommend it to anyone, if u like being suckered out of your hard earned $$$$$ go for it, they like to make a sucker out of anyone, remember the old adage "if it looks too good to be true it probably is"
well in this case i can definitely say that adage is definitely TRUE
in closing if enough people threaten to sue magicjack over their piece of crap or go and file complaints thru the federal government then the fiends at magicjack might wake up, i doubt it but its worth a shot after all verizon wireless woke up and got their act together after a lawsuit was launched ............. would love to see magic jack jump thru a few hoops too..... |

| reply to nettron said by nettron:if enough people threaten to sue magicjack ... We'll all be paying $120 a year for service? It's a $1.16-per-month service. Anyone who expects $1.16 to buy personalized telephone support, or six-sigma quality is setting themselves up for disappointment.
Anyone who talks about suing over a $1.16-per-month service (after they had a 30-day free trial, and access to all the user forums to read about problems people have) is delusional.

| reply to Larry1 I can understand your frustration. I really hate USB phone services. Having to leave your computer on 24/7 plus the myriad of different issues that can cause problems from Microsoft Windows . . .
MJ works great for me. Reliable and very cost effective. However, I really wish they would offer a desktop adapter instead of the USB device. |

 | reply to nettron I hated mine. I agonized over it. But then......I put it in another USB port (?)(I am ignorant female)and it still sucked...then I went and bought a $49 three phone system from Fry's...GE5.8 wireless with a base system and message taking machine. Now it works fine. Have called all over. Only time it stopped was when I downloaded a fix for the pop up Magic Jack ad. Then nothibg worked. I took that off and then it is working fine again. So we either love it or we hate it. I am in for 5 years or whenever they fold. But now...am satisfied. I have the ATT $35 a month DSL I guess it is called. I kept my ATT phone service but cancelled the $20 a month talk alll over part of it and long distance and now use Magic Jack for long distance. I admit I also own a cell phone. I have been real happy with Skype when on the road. Have not used it at home. |
