| [TWC] NW Ohio disappointment
" Rant Follows "
Thank you Time Warner for Taking FOX of the air. Looks like I must have missed that letter or email about your actions.
Oh also thanks for putting Stars Kids&Family in its place. Nothing like tossing in a former pay channel to fill the void...
All I have left to say is Fix it or I'm going elsewhere.
" End Rant." |

(BTW Lin-TV owns kxan)
Simple fact is, lin-tv is greedy as sin. If you read between the lines, they want 30cents a subscriber a month for there local channel. ("Less than a penny per day per subscriber") And compaired to most of your other channels thats highway robbery.
More so, i hear rumblings that they want 1 cent per day per home passed, meaning TWC would be giving them money for every home there cable was INFRONT OF, not even if they had service. |

| reply to ds5v50 Here Time Warner replaced the Buffalo CBS and CW stations, which are owned by LIN, with CBS and CW out of Rochester. I was all worried that I'd miss my CBS primetime programming and Bills games, but Time Warner came through and gave the middle finger to LIN. I get my programming, while WIVB and WNLO and their advertisers lose my eyeballs. -- A Vote For Obama Is A Vote For Osama, Keep America Safe, Vote Republican! *McCain/Palin 2008* |

| reply to ds5v50 They did not do this for the entire Buffalo Division. Anyone 35 miles from Rochester would be getting the feed. Outside the 35 mile radius would see CBS College football on CH4 and HBO family on 23. It would be agains FCC regulations to carry Rochesters feed over 35 miles. |

| I'm well over 35 miles from Rochester. I'm in Erie County, about 60 miles from Rochester, or 15 from Buffalo. Channel 4 and 1004 is WROC and WROC-DT, and channel 9 is WHAM CW 16, for those in TW Rochester service area who reside in the Buffalo DMA.
Don't see what the big deal is, in reguards to the FCC. I can get all of the Rochester locals on QAM anyway. Too bad TW didn't turn on CW 16 HD for us as well. I'd love to see Reaper in HD. -- A Vote For Obama Is A Vote For Osama, Keep America Safe, Vote Republican! *McCain/Palin 2008* |

| The very Eastern edge of Erie (and Niagara) County is serviced by TW Rochester and has been for years, we were never an Adelphia area, have had Time Warner forever.
I live in Marilla. Alden, Akron and Marilla are the only three towns in Erie to get cable out of Rochester. Here's the TW Rochester coverage map

| reply to ds5v50 I just want to clarify something. I'm not blaming Time Warner for pulling, I'm just upset that they did not let there customers know about it. I'm not going to search the web daily for articles telling me what channels are due to be dropped. I should receive some formal notice.. For heaven sake they can send e-mail advertisements out to you telling you what you can spend your money on, but nothing as to you losing a channel. I'm sorry if everyone was misled by my rant. |

| This is in other markets as well. According to Reuters this is impacting some 1.5 million subscribers.
Fifteen LIN TV-owned local stations are currently carried by Time Warner in the following markets: Austin; Buffalo; Columbus; Dayton; Ft. Wayne; Green Bay; Indianapolis; Mobile; Springfield (Mass); Terre Haute and Toledo.

I think as the decision to pull the channels were made by LIN communications that it was their responsibility to inform you. Perhaps you should rant to them.

| said by ds5v50 :I pay time Warner for my Service. Hence it is there responsibility. Your an arse. Thank You. The negotians continued up past midnight on the day that the contract expired and LIN communications refused an extension. Obviously giving some sort of formal notice to customers under these circumstances was impossible. If Lin were not so unreasonable the channel would still be on.

thanks Our Local OTA fox is quite a distance away. I tried using an antenna to get the Broadcast but it is real weak. Maybe I'll get lucky and TW will carry another markets Fox BroadCast, I doubt it though. |

Lin have done everything within their power up to and including legal action to stop alternate network material being broadcast.
