Just like it might taken 8, 10, or 20 minutes to drive the same 5 mile stretch of road, so goes it with speed on the internet.
It's got a lot do to with who else is riding that part of the internet highway the same time as you are, and how big and heavy their load is.

I got 2581 on speedtest.net with 3meg dsl.
and 2512 with the www.dslreports.com flash tool
You may be able to get a little faster. |

Do to TCP overhead that is the most you will get. Basically you take 85% of your sync rate 3008 and your top speed is basically 2556.8 is your best. |
