mindfrost82 : If people all over the country had problems after Sprint took them over and the problem happened right away, how in the world could Sprint create such a nationwide problem within a matter of weeks? The truth is that Nextel was near capacity and that's what caused their problems.

As for the FCC, they told Nextel that they had to change the frequency they were using because it interfered with emergency services. As a part of the merger, they made Sprint agree to that. They already ruled that Nextel had to do that before the merger, which more than likely would have bankrupted them since that means they would have had to redo their entire network.

So one way or another, Nextel was going downhill, whether or not Nextel-lovers wanted to admit it or not. You can blame Sprint if you want and if it makes you feel better, but the facts prove otherwise.

Eitherway, I'll admit that I've been a fan of Sprint for a long time. I've had great service with them and I recommend them to lots of people. I warn them about customer service first because that is definitely a problem, but in the 8 years I had them I've rarely had a problem that customer service couldn't fix, and I've rarely had to call them for problems.

I've since switched to AT&T so I'm in no way a fanboy, I just know what the facts point to.
