OK i live in powdersville,SC and i notice when driving by the terminal or what ever it is called before entering my neighborhood (its the metal box thing that stands about 5ft tall and about 3 or so feet wide) that there was a sign by it saying upgrade coming soon. Are neighborhood is fairly new since its about 8yrs old. i can get fast access Internet i know for sure cause my neighbor but i have cable. just wondering if anyone new cause i mean it doesn't make since to put a sign up if its just phone service. the sign was to small to read. |

| I would stop and read the sign, but what it's saying is that AT&T is upgrading lines in your neighborhood in order to provide an alternative to traditional cable tv. Don't bother asking when this will take place, as it could be anytime in the next 2 or 3 years if you're lucky. |

| reply to LowRider Just remember to stay out of the box . It is a felony to get in the equipment for any reason . When you are walking around the box you are tresspassing. Don't get arrested for your curiosity . They are upgrading the data. Telephone service is already as good as it can get. If you see a local tech he will probably be able to fill you in . |

| If the box is open it's fair game. Obviously don't open it -- even if there is no lock.
Yes you are trespassing if there is a fence around it but anything you can see from the street is fair game. -- 09:F9:11:02:9D:74:E3:5B:D8:41:56:C5:63:56:88:C0 |

When you are walking around the box you are tresspassing. On whose property? The VRADs I have seen are in the strip between the curb and the sidewalk. I am not sure even I can keep people off of the grass in that area in front of my house. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

1 edit | reply to impala looks like the first. but there not new boxes they've been there since we been here (since the neighborhood has anyway). We lived in a Bell South area and only two miles from where they keep there trucks, and what not at a building. I'll see if i can't find out today before work and take a picture of the box |

| reply to LowRider OK - the sign is an upgrade to u-verse. Do you see the wooden beams around the equipment ? That is the beginning of the property line . After the lines are conditioned it will take another month to get the vrad setup . 10 meg to start -faster speeds later. |

joako Premium join:2000-09-07 /dev/null | I'm thinking it takes at least 6months from the time they put up everything to the time you can order Uverse. -- 09:F9:11:02:9D:74:E3:5B:D8:41:56:C5:63:56:88:C0 |

@bellsouth.net | reply to Tel Right- the whole city/county has to be ready before it is offered. AT&T cant offer a service in an area until everybody can get it .Just because the equipment is in does not mean it is ready to work. |
