This is perfect time for Verizon to go after AT&T. Verizon, can you hear me now?

You'll love VZ's $4 a month minimum LD fee even if you don't use LD...

I left VZ's LD because of it.

If only the Verizon CSRs worked this well.

I have Comcast Digital Phone which is actually better than AT&T's land line service and much less expensive (for the time being). I am paying $20 a month for a year for unlimited local and long distance. Then, it will go up to $40 after the year is up. That is still better than the $73 I was paying with AT&T.

I pay about $20 with Vonage and that is not a sale price. I have no issues.

No joke! I was quick to switch my mother's POTS to an alternative LD service for her when she got the letter about that LD minimum. I doubt she uses $4 worth of LD service in an entire year. I can only imagine how many other people Verizon is robbing with that minimum fee.

18.83 with taxes for Vonage unlimited. I have a special deal for their unlimitd plan. I get it for $14.95 before taxes.

If I had faster upload and a more stable connection with Comcast internet, I would definitely consider VOIP. Right now, Comcast internet is just a little too flaky for me.
