| Verizon FiOS Activation(Program)
Hello,
I was just wondering if the "Verizon FiOS Activation" program is something that I need or can I remove it? I wasn't home last week when it was installed, otherwise I would have asked the installer.
Also, if it wouldn't be too much to ask....could someone lead me into the direction of some FiOS performance tweaks. Similar to the ones used for tweaking DSL to get the most out of it(god sent).
Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time for your response. |

@myvzw.com | reply to joeboo OK to send that VZ Fios Activation to the trash. You might want to print it first. Has some possibly useful info. |

| reply to joeboo If you are a new FIOS customer, running the activation program is very useful. It creates the primary VOL user account(email) as well as confirming Terms of Service(very big billing impact if you miss!!!) and runs performance optimization on Windows TCP/IP settings. ---- All that said, after running it - delete it. |

| reply to joeboo I question the optimization program. I have 3 computers I used it on. Two the MTU was set to 1492 although it's DCHP not PPPoE. Don't remember the receive window but it was out of wack. One the MTU was 1300 . Performance was not good. I had to use DrTCP and DSLR's tweak program to get the computers back to where they all work as advertised. |
