| Almost could have been really bad .. Call waiting issue....
Have the new adapter and my wife was on the phone with my sister-in-law when my son called from a friends house. My wife jumped over to take the call and when she hung up and re-joined the other call, my sister-in-law told her she could hear EVERYTHING between my wife and my son:o
A call to tech support and I am told a setting changeshould correct the issue. Good thing she loves my sister-in-law. Could you imagine what a family fued could have been started??? |

| said by Luv2Camp :Could you imagine what a family fued could have been started??? I saw this title and thought someone's call waiting wasn't working and someone was trying to call them about an emergency, medical or otherwise, as if life and/or limb was at stake.
How about editing your title to just:
"Call waiting issue..."
Your definition of "could have been really bad" is lacking. |

| digger16309, I agree fully.
And yet, in some families this *could* have ended up with life and limb.
Seriously, I do wish that the original poster had given us some more technical detail on the problem. What needed to be fixed?! His posting, as currently worded, is almost a tease. It does not help out anyone else. |

Imaging popping off a conference call to chat with the wife? See, as a rule I don't do that. I do make business calls on my VT line, and stay on my conference calls. My question was aimed to see if there was the possibility the call was not switched over correctly. -- "A religious war is like children fighting over who has the strongest imaginary friend."

We know you are using a PAP2 with two lines on a two-line phone. But is it a VT-provided adapter where Line 2 is really a clone of Line 1 (using same incoming DID#) --- or is the PAP2 a BYOD registered with two different DID#s (either both DIDs from VT or one from VT with the other from another provider). It might help some of us to determine whether the problem is on your side or with VT-settings on their side. I suspect you have the VT 2nd line free setup ... which would more than likely put the ball in VT's court. |

| reply to ptrowski Yeah, I got where you were headed... I had an old Panasonic 4 line phone that would sometimes cross buttons, this may very well be a non VT issue.
Seems odd that the VT support person "changed some settings" to prevent this from happening (unless this was a BS answer to close a ticket). Once again, the toasters have minds of their own apparently. |

| reply to Luv2Camp Well, it happened again today. My wife was on the phone and I called her and she flipped over on call waiting and it turned into a three way call.... I called tech and was told they needed to make changes to the settings again. I asked what changes were made and why this was happening but was told they did not know why it kept happening and did not disclose what settings were changed. This is frustrating and now I have no confidence in the call waiting feature! |
