| reply to HeelYeah XP antivirus can install on a limited account provided the user is having internet connection. Antivirus XP 2009 is a new rogue anti-spyware program that is advertised through Trojans and other malware. It is advertised in the form of fake security alerts and warnings on web sites that state you are infected with malware or are being attacked in some manner. When you click on these ads, it will automatically download the installer for Antivirus XP 2008 and install it on your machine. In some cases, this program is installed without any intervention at all from you. Checkout »www.spywaregeeks.com for step by step instruction on rogue antispyware removal. |

| reply to HeelYeah two of the programs that have been working well to help clean it are »www.malwarebytes.org/
»www.superantispyware.com/
head over to the security cleanup forum they can help, there are good steps to follow there. |

@bell.ca | reply to HeelYeah I comebine use of a LUA with SRP. I believe this will help since the installer shouldn't be allowed to run in this case |

| Even on a limited user account, users would still have the responsibility of taking common sense.
Even though Im running as a restricted account, I still take appropriate measures to protect myself and people here should do the same even if its Linux, Solairs or other UNIX OSs...not just Windows.
This AV 2009 installes itselft via the BHO...(Browser Helper Object) and please update your Java updates regularly to avoid this from happening.
Just because Im a restricted user, that does not mean I can browse the net like a "king" and thats it...
Good luck. |
