att add a line question

So me/my girl looking at just adding me to her line, cause prepaid sucks

anyways i found a nice phone for free when you add-a-line, but we just want to keep her 450min unlimited texts for 59.99 a month

anyone know if we can keep the single plan, or if we need to upgrade to the super expensive family talk plan, which comes to 99.99 a month :|

You get what you pay for

You have answered your own questions. It isn't a single plan (price) any more if you add a line .

If you switched to a $59.99/550 minute family talk plan which includes 2 lines, the kicker is, unlimited SMS would add on $20/month per line (~$99 total before taxes/fees).

Re: att add a line question

Kinda what i thought, but why call it 'add-a-line' if they force you to upgrade to the familytalk plan? :P

So basically i'm stuck doing the 69.99 700min family talk plan+30bucks unlimited text

instead of the original 39.99 plan+20bucks unlimited texts+10bucks add a line?

I'm not sure why this is so difficult for you to figure out(?) Is the notion of signing a contract new to you perhaps which is the rub?

If you want a single plan, then enter into a lower priced contract yourself, separate from the gf. If you feel that you need to be together on a plan, then have her upgrade to a family plan which includes two lines for the minutes/prices listed on att.com. That's pretty simple. Unfortunately, there's nothing inexpensive about plans with ATT & Verizon since they generally provide very good service hence the premium over pre-paid. Add in unlimited anything and it gets a bit pricey.

WELL, since you must not understand what i'm saying

they offer 'add a line' for 9.99, but UPGRADING TO A FAMILY PLAN costs 30bucks more in itself, so the 9.99 is mute, and is in fact 30bucks, i was questioning anyway to just add the 9.99 without having to pay the 30!

That being said, calling them today they gave us a cheaper family plan that isn't listed online, and is in fact only 10bucks more than her old one

is it really that hard to see that i was trying to save 20bucks a month, and that was my question if it was possible?

What you were asking for was to see if you could add a line to a single line plan. Answer is no.. you must add a line to a plan that is set up for multiple lines, or add your own plan with your own line.

You just were'nt asking that in a clear way. Glad you at least found a way to get what you were looking for. Good luck in the future!
