Skate is one of my favorite games. Really one of the most overlooked games of 2007. It pretty much dethroned Tony Hawk right out of the gate (I remember hearing it sold twice as many copies as Proving Ground). The control scheme is totally unique. If you haven't at least downloaded the demo, you should, even if you don't like skating games. Yes, it's EA, which everybody loves to hate, but the game is still awesome.
Is anyone else excited about skate2?

A ton more tricks, new town, revamped replay editor, ability to get off board, move objects, etc. I'm totally excited about this. And thank god they put in a proper replay editor this time.
