| reply to justin I found this almost funny... well to tell you the truth for some stupid reason I laughed.
The crisis engulfing Europe, Asia and emerging markets, makes life easier for Washington. The United States is becoming a safe-haven again.
I guess we will not have any problem financing the bailout. |

However, and this is pretty important, the dollar has wiped out all of those claims earlier in the year that the weak USD was good for US exporters.
So now if there is a consumer led recession there might also be an export-led recession as well. Not that america seems to need a trade surplus to function but a lot of the stock market is international earnings. |

I sincerely HOPE that all of us are learning something here for going forward?! |

I don't have any money in the Stock Market, but I learned that on October 3rd 2008, there were exactly 74 US Senators, 263 US congressmen and 1 US President that are not concerned with the "average" American.
I think a large percent of "average" Americans understand this, while their representatives don't care. |

I am still fascinated by those who think that gold has some value...
Would I trade some of my food for gold? Uh, not really.
Would I trade any of my tools for gold? Keep dreaming...!
The only thing gold is good for (other than its industrial uses) is bait for the lawless hordes who *think* it has value and are willing to take it from you and kill you for it if necessary. The irony is that they themselves become the target of the hordes and the process continues.
Oh, by the way...anyone actually *seen* the gold in Fort Knox lately...?? -- A is A |
