Re: Smart move by AT&T.

Verizon has a great network, but a sucky selection of phones.

Thats all there is to it.

As a Verizon subscriber I wish I could say the same about their lack of coverage in Ventura, CA (in particular West Camarillo).

Agreed, I left T-Mobile back in May and really wanted to sign with Verizon, but every time I looked at their phones I was unimpressed. In the end I went with AT&T

No, they have a large selection of phones. Just not the iPhone, which has become a fashion statement by those who have to have the "IN Thing" like all their friends.

You forgot how Verizon loves to take feature rich phones and turn off half the cool things.

They can't do that to PDA style phones. On those they disable GPS so you have to use their product, but that's it.

Exactly. My buddy left Verizon for AT&T and even he admits their service is awful, but he loves the iPhone so he is willing to put up with it. He wanted to throw his iPhone at AT&T when I told him Verizon was getting the iPhone and his current one won't work with them ... so he'd have to buy a new one if he wanted to switch back.

Who else completely hates the 'red' interface. It's somewhat nice not having to relearn menus when you upgrade phones, but jeeze there is so much work that needs to be done on that sad platform..

There are quite a few phones being offered by Verizon's partners, it's just that they might as well all be the same model since the software all comes with the same feature killing locks in place..

I certainly do, although the newer interface (like on my Razr 2 V9m) is MUCH nicer.

On the east coast ATT's network rules. In fact t-mobile leases from att, as do several smaller niche carriers. Verizon and sprint suck in this area aside from PTT.

Maybe you haven't been reading all the stories Karl keeps posting about Verizon and their coverage & call quality. Verizon rules on the East Coast and not AT&T.

It comes and goes. Sometimes my "New Every Two" goes three years because they don't have any phones that I like. About my phone... 10 reasons why the Samsung i760 is better than the iPhone for business users.

AT&T's wireless network comes and goes as well. I tested AT&T Mobility just about a month ago. It's "just okay" to "spotty" here in Portland. VZW is much superior here.

Yep, what you point out is typical American ideals. Who gives a ratts rear the network is crappy. Who cares that customer service sucks. But, hey, look at my shinny new killer phone, isn't it cool?

However I agree with the battery thing.

Having Verizon Wireless is like having an ugly girlfriend who is always dependable but never does the back room stuff you want her to do.

Having sprint is like messing with a sexy model who to be honest... wont always be there for you..... but when she is..... god damn she will do anything and everything you want.

Having ATT "I-Phone" is like have a beautiful, smart and sophisticated woman but is stuck up like you cant believe and wants everyone to know it. She will do some of the back room stuff but is very prissy about it....

Personally I would suggest having Verizon for business and Sprint or ATT on the side but thats just me ....

HAHAHA! From day one, I've said that Paris Hilton ought to be the Celebrity Spokesperson for the iPhone. Like Paris Hilton, the iPhone brings no new or special talent, but it's a sex symbol.

I use both (Verizon from my employer and iPhone Personally) and Verizon does not rule in PA. Sorry, they are the NOTwork. And they are not all that great in N. NJ either.

They do have a good brainwashing campaign though.
