Parts That Came w/ Touch

Ok so can someone explain to me what the little clear plastic piece and the white plastic piece are that came with my iPod Touch? Don't see anything in the manual, etc.

The white plastic is an insert for Apple's universal dock so the iPod Touch will sit properly in it.

The clear plastic.. I don't remember that piece, was it just the USB/Dock connector protector?

Don't think it was a protector. It was a seperate piece that has like a hook type end on one side and the other is round. Really hard to explain it LOL! It appears it is a stand. See these images (not mine):

Interesting.. Is that a 1G or 2G iPod Touch? I don't remember getting one with mine. I'll have to check the box when I get home.

I have a 1G. Not sure if the 2G comes with it. Apparently I'm not the only person that had no clue what it was. There's no mention with any documentation of what it is. Glad to know as I'd love to have a stand at work while using it so this will be handy. Alot of people threw it out thinking it was just extra stuff that you didn't need from what I've read.

The little plastic piece is meant to act as a stand to watch movies!

I thought it was a proof-of-purchase / software update coupon holder.

I'm pretty sure you're 'doing it right' in those pictures. Does it work well as a stand? I never really had the chance to use it - my iPod Touch went straight into the cover once I got it out of packaging

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I have yet to hear of anyone actually using those things for whatever purpose they are intended for.

Looks like a stand to keep the iPod upright.

Sorry if I posted this late.

I bought a 1G refurb two months ago. No such part.

EDIT: forgot to mention that I didn't receive the polish cloth either. It would appear that refurbs can be a bit slack in accessories.

Actually, once (in 20+ years of owning Macs): the free update from 10.0 to 10.1.

I might have had to use one to get the free (up to date) upgrade to 8 from 7.6, but I can't recall for certain. Please don't ask about the 6 to 7 policies. In those days you sent a check and waited.

So I've discovered this little "stand" is useless if you have headphones plugged in. One thing I HATE is the headphone port on bottom. Probably the minority when it comes to that complaint but just my opinion. Was looking forward to using the stand at work and now I can't with head phones in.

Well ok so that does fit on it's side but every picture I've found shows it being used standing up in the stand. Oh well least I can still use the stand and headphones. Still had the head phone port on the bottom though.

Whatever you do don't lose it or break it. Replacements from Apple are $29 and you have to mail the broken one back.
