| Question to Logitech Harmony owners
Which button do you use to bring menu which is being brought by stock control pressing "DVR" (blue button in center) to show recorded programs. I just got Harmony 880 Remote Control and I don't see any hardware which I can use for that (I wanted to use may be "media" button but it does not appear to be configurable). I don't want to use one of custom actions buttons becouse it's difficult to press them without looking at control (buttons are too small and grouped together). |

| If im understanding you right unless you program/specify a button on the Harmony specificly to bring up the recorded programs menu you wont have one.
What i do is press "Menu" scroll to DVR then go to "recorded programs"
I use the Harmon 670 |

| reply to artisticcheese so is the 670..you can designate a button to do what you want it to do using the computer program so you are incorrect in your statement "there is no button there to bring up list of recorded programs"
I simply dont mind using menu to go where i need to go. Having one button turn on and operate 3 components at once is good enough i dont whine over the recorded program button! |

| reply to bgtimber75 Problem with that it's very small buttons on 880 and you have to actually look for it to find it and press it. Verizon did a good job of coloring it differently, making it big and putting in center of remote. Much better usability. This might prevent my wife for example from switching from stock DVR to Harmony. |

| reply to artisticcheese When you setup your remote you can configure the buttons on the display screen. Since "Aspect" shows up as one of those buttons and I don't change the tv's aspect while watching tv, i reconfigured it to use the "MyDvr" button instead. Since it is on the screen of the remote it's always viewable since it lights up in the dark. One press takes you right to the dvr menu. |

| I really wanted to customize something which is easily accessible and towards middle of remote. Issue is not really with me but with my wife who once get used to something will be very unwilling to switch to something which is not as convenient as it was before. Even if you remember where you custom button is it's still difficult to press it since it's close to the rest of the buttons. There is a media button on Harmony remote which does not produce any effect when I press it and was wondering if I can customize that one with custom action. This will fit the requirement. |

| Can't tell you just now as I'm not near a computer with the software installed. Try all the Customize areas of the software (perhaps under the Device area? Not really sure)
It's all there and possible. For example, I overrode the "D" button to do something and now I'm hosed when I view ESPN Fantasy via the IMG as it wants the "D" button for something |

The HArmony remotes are very versatile. |

| reply to artisticcheese You can't edit the special function buttons like Media and Off. You can change anything else.
To do this, click the Activities tab then choose "Customize Buttons" under the activity. |

| If you do not want to use the screen buttons, you can use the mute button for My DVR and move the mute function to one of the screen buttons.
I have the same issue with my wife. I found having the function like My DVR on the screen, gives her the visual, with the button to be pressed right next to it.
These remotes have great flexibility. Try different options until you find the one that satisfies both of you. |

| the 880 is just one model of many harmony remotes, it's not any more "dvr-based" than any of their other remotes. pretty much any of them will do all dvr functions (which is what they mean by dvr friendly" personaly I wouldn't want a big dvr button in the middle of a remote that i use to control all of my components. The harmony remote is one of the best remotes out there and certainly wasn't developed by a bunch of "Reese monkeys". |
