SuperAnti Spyware not responding at shutdown

Minor irritation but on a couple of my computers I get the "Program not responding message" when the computer is shutting down.

Any fix for this?

XP Home SP3

Thanks

Happens to me also with XP Pro SP3 if I don't close out the program before shutting down.

Could you post a link to your thread in the SAS forum? I'm interested in an answer too. Thanks

Is this on the paid or free edition of SAS?

Just curious.

Doesn't seem like you're getting swift support on the SAS forums so I'll make a suggestion.

Since you're running the Free version I really don't see any use for any part of SAS running if you just use it to scan occasionally. Open up SAS and select Preferences. Under the "General and Startup" tab uncheck the blocks for "Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts" and "Show SUPERAntiSpyware icon in system tray." This will prevent SAS from running unless you tell it to run. With nothing running you shouldn't be seeing the error. Of course that doesn't eliminate the reason's for the problem to begin with but AFAIK not having SAS running all the time shouldn't be much of an issue.

Yep I've been considering all of that plus exiting SAS before shutting down which I have done.

As I said in my first post it is just a minor irritation and doesn't happen on all of my computers.

Thanks for the post.

I think its due to the fact of updating his web site and or server

SAS support gave up this morning.I disabled functions per the suggestion here and no problem now.

Hello,

I don't know what would cause us to hang on exit except if one of the other security products was holding us "locked" while scanning our process.
