| [Rant] PAYPAL
Hey. I am having a problem with paypal....From what I heard,"join the crowd"... I sold something on egay. I have well over 600 positive..0 (ZERO) negative!! The guy just started egay..less than 20 positive. So far (I know it not over) they are siding with him. They(paypal) will NOT like me if they side with him!! I have away of getting things done. BestBuy tried to screw me out of $300 rebates before. I found out how to personally get hold of the CEO.... I got my refunds! Get this. never cussed or threatened.. Just told them the truth of what happened and who I talked to. They promptly sent me my refunds.. HOPEFULLY paypal will resolve this easily?? Who knows? While I am at it. Is there any other ways of getting money on internet other than paypal? Please let me know. I sell alot online. Money orders take too long... |

I read something recently that may help explain the eBay/PayPal attitude toward sellers.
Basically what I read was that eBay considers the buyers who bid on your auctions as its own customers, rather than yours. For instance, why does eBay work so hard to keep buyers and sellers from communicating directly with each other? Surely they wouldn't do that if the people who bid on your auctions were actually considered by them to be "your" buyers, would they?
Such an attitude would also help explain why, these days, eBay is far more inclined to side with the buyer in a dispute than they are to side with a seller. From what I can tell, eBay believes that they can always get more sellers. Getting good buyers, however, isn't so easy.
So, yeah, I feel you: eBay doesn't seem to be willing to help sellers too much these days. Once you understand that eBay doesn't even remotely care about helping out sellers, though, you can take the appropriate steps (like not dealing with eBay's bed-buddy PayPal for starters).
At any rate, I hope they have not locked down your PayPal account. From what I can tell, PayPal reserves the right to lock down your account for as long as they feel like, whenever they feel like doing it, regardless of whether the money in the account is actually yours and not theirs.
I keep getting CC offers from eBay/PayPal, but I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger as PayPal is not a financial institution I have any faith in.
I mean, they make the nickel-and-dime artists known as "banks" look halfway respectable.
(And boy, that's really saying something.) |

Being a hard ass will just screw you over. Doesn't sound like he's being a hardass about it. In his second post, which is much clearer than his first post:

It seems fairly clear the buyer's trying to scam, banking on paypal/ebay being buyer-friendly.
If his communications with the buyer and paypal/ebay are as muddled and confusing as his first post, he doesn't have much hope at all, whether right or wrong. -- The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon profitable cause... |

If it's over a certain amount ($250 methinks) you need to use SIGNATURE confirmation?
2) If they file for INR and you followed the guidelines they are going to side with you
3) If they file for SNAD then if they do side with the buyer they must return the item to you first, and will issue a refund. Annoying but you don't loose much. -- 09:F9:11:02:9D:74:E3:5B:D8:41:56:C5:63:56:88:C0 |

| reply to bones200 as long as your auction clearly stated they would get what's pictured you should be ok. you say they are siding with the buyer, have they completed the investigation already or is it being investigated currently?
I sold a broken laptop for parts late last year. I clearly stated it didnt have a battery and i would not include the harddrive cause it has data on it. when they got it, they kept hassling me about it. I told them "if i can wipe the drive i'll include it, but otherwise its not a part of the auction". that was clearly in the auction. she then felt what she paid wasnt worth it without these two things, and she wanted me to partially refund her. i told her hell no, she filed a claim and lost. -- a time for change... | 1st & 10 | map your city |

So we are ok. AFTER he left me NEGATIVE feedback...I can't leave him NEGATIVE. Ebay won't let me????? |
