Thanks for the info... I looks like a mirrored site except that that one doesn't have any of my account information. I only had about $5 left on my mp3sugar account but on this one it doesn't even show me as a registered member...

I wonder what happened?

I'm not sure, but I did notice several months ago that they stopped accepting VISA. Smelling a rat, I used all but less than $1 and sat tight.
It was just last week that I received an email from a Yahoo address linking me to this new site.

I suppose one could email mp3count's billing support department with their old account information to receive their due credit. Or hop a flight to Ukraine!

I started a new account with mp3count. I may email them about the $5 or so I had on mp3sugar. I don't expect to see it back but it's worth trying.

Maybe Visa had something to do with it. Maybe they violated some TOS or something.

I contacted the mp3count site afew days ago and they never
got back to me. I lost $15 when mp3sugar disappeared. I don't trust the new mp3count site because after afew months it will probably disappear like mp3sugar and you'll lose your money.

In case anyone's interested, »www.songboom.com/ has
reviews and other information on the different Russian mp3
sites, including MP3Sugar, MP3Fiesta, and 16 others.

Noticeably missing from the list, though, is MP3Sparks.

Just before allofmp3.com started appearing in its place, I had my password reset from support@mp3sugar.com. I emailed them an I'm waiting for a reply. I'm sure that since the US gov isn't getting any tax revenue, they've banned it from US access - who knows?. If I find anything out, I'll post it. It was the least expensive and usually had about 90% of what I was looking for. I've used it for several years now.

Yea, mp3sugar was my favorite also... It looks like mp3count is the same thing so I think I'll stick with it for awhile. I've already downloaded several albums from hard to find artists that I was certain they would not have... but did.

If anyone's using either the MVPS or HPGuru hosts files, you'll find that MP3Sugar is blocked on both of them, probably because they've been accused of being a scam site.

Even if the others seemed trustworthy, I would only use a single use credit card number with any of them. If you have a Paypal account, there's a toolbar you can install on your browser that allows you to generate single use Mastercard numbers.

I signed up for the largest of these, MP3Skyline, with a gift credit card I put only $100 on.

That's what I do too... I can create a virtual credit card with my card company and that's what I use with any of these sites. After the first charge the card becomes invalid.

From what I can see MP3Count is the replacement for MP3Sugar.
There were certain releases that only MP3Sugar had and MP3Count has them as well.

Its funny, when I try to use a PayPal secure card at the Mp3Count website it says that I can't connect to PayPal. I have no problem logging into PayPal at their website, Is anyone else having this problem????

Don't know. I didn't use paypal. I used a virtual credit card. Maybe they don't have paypal set up properly.

I used a tool on a website called www.dnsstuff.com to verify to integrity of Mp3sugar. It listed a technical contact in Moskovskaya oblast, Moscow under an entity called "Fenton Ltd." The listed phone number for the technical contact is: +7 495 2217459.

The Mp3sugar.com domain is registered and set to expire 11/9/09. I am certain the site is being blocked do to copyright infringement. The government must be getting flack form action groups established like the one Metalica set up.

If the government were blocking mp3sugar then I wonder if it would be possible to go through a proxy? So far I'm liking mp3count... but who knows how long they'll be around either.
