Home Media DVR Pricing / IMG 1.6

I am currently looking forward to the HD streaming coming to my area (hopefully this week) with the IMG 1.6 upgrade. I currently have an HD-DVR which I am paying a "grandfathered" price of $12.99 / month. I will want to upgrade this HD-DVR to the Home Media DVR needed for the HD streaming. Would I be grandfathered in to the old HM-DVR price, or would I automatically be charged the current $19.99 for the HM-DVR.

Also, can you automatically upgrade your current HD-DVR to the HM-DVR right through IMG 1.6 or do you have to call up?

Have you called Verizon and asked?

No, I figured I could get more useful, objective information from this forum first, before calling the billing knuckleheads.

I called to check on the upgrade.
For me it would have cost 13.00 more a month for the upgrade because I signed up for a HD DVR/Movie package so I will not be upgrading.
You will need to call them and see if it is worth it based on the plan you signed up for.

I've had my HD-DVR and HD box for two years now. I'm not tied to any combo movie package. I just have the triple freedom package for two years.

I did it thru my DVR. Stated free for next 70 days, and $7.00 extra per month after that, since I already had an HD-DVR. But as I expected from past billing problems, they charged me the full $20.00 immediately. Had to call to cancel and hopefully get the credit. Billing stated they never heard of the offer, and they contacted fiber solutions who stated the same.

Were you paying $12.99 per month for the HD-DVR like me? Did that 70 day offer appear on the screen?

The same place we get all these accurate deployment dates for HD channel releases and firmware?

I guess deployment dates and firmware dates here, are better than no info from Verizon.

So they advertised the 70 days free in the IMG, but Verion billing will not support it? Geez, how do you go back now and prove it to them?

luckily they believed me and said they'd credit whatever extra they were going to charge, ~$16 over the next 2+ months. i cancelled the service since i really don't see myself using it much. are very few people getting this offer, or am i just losing my mind?

i had the hd dvr at $13 and they got me at $20. in terms of upgrading, it was just downloaded straight to my box.

From my experience is any change I do I pay the current set rate. Didn't matter if I called or did it online.

You can call for the MR HD-DVR upgrade or do it online. (Again) from experience calling Sales puts the order through quicker than online...that is if you are antsy. Online orders usually are fulfilled by 8 am the next morning.
