| Issue with OTA HD channels with coax in niagara falls
I do not know the technical term but I have a new TV. It has a QAM tunner in it to get OTA digital.
I live in niagara falls NY and when I connect my plasma TV to the coax I was able to get NBC/ABC/FOX/My Network/WNED and of course CBS. This past sunday when I connected a normal antenna to get CBS and the bills game. I cleared my channel settings. Now when I connect it back up and use my TV to scan for analog and HD. IT does not get those channels listed above. They were 88-1,88-2,88-3,89-1,106-1,106-2.
111-4 - Digital TBS (Channel 23) with 5.1 sound and a crap load of music channels. I still get 87-* the 10 radio radio channels.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Now in all these forums I heard it called "unencrypted HD" or "Clear QAM" or OTA HD carried by TW. Now I call cable tech support no one seems to know what I am talking about. They say i need a digital box and cannot seem to grasp this idea.
Is this something TW is doing that is a hiden advantage or not supported? |

@rr.com | Did you change the input to "Antenna" rather than CATV or Cable?
This tells the set to scan for OTA rather than cable channels.
You should see it find 2, 2-1, 2-2, 4, 4-1 etc.. |

Is that OTA with antenna or is that what comes up with scanning on a cable wire? |
