Instead, MetroFi stopped returning calls and essentially turned off and abandoned the equipment. At this point it is basically litter in the Public Right of Way.

The city is going to have to pay at least $30K to remove it, from what I've read. But the city isn't going to run them after taking over. They are going to dismantle them and maybe sell them for parts.
