| AMD Phenom X4 9550 showing as single core
Hello there, just installed my new AMD Phenom X4 9550 and noticed windows is only seeing one core. I also ran CPU-Z and it's showing a single core instead of the 4 cores this processor has. Bios reports 4 cores. Anyone know anything about this being a problem? I've updated the Motherboards bios but this did not solve the problem. -- Visit my homepage »thinkequality.net |

| reply to netwire Hey guys, thanks for your replies. I tried searching for Windows Vista drivers (Was running Windows Vista Home). I could not locate any multi-core drivers for Windows Vista that would install without giving me the "a better driver is already installed" error. I did notice under Hardware Manager than the CPU was listed 4 times... maybe Vista was confused?
I decided to just install Windows XP Pro and be done with it (Vista). To be honest I've not been very happy with Vista at all. After installing XP Pro the system saw the 4 cores right away and it's running great! Thank you all for your replies. -- Visit my homepage »thinkequality.net |
