contact HP to have the lcd replaced, be prepared to be without the laptop for a few weeks. if this was a dell they could come onsite and replace it.

If you look really closly at the screen, can you see a faint image of what's supposed to be there?

Try moving a large window arround as a refernce or pointing a LED flashlight close to the screen

...if you can see an image, then it's probably just the backlight driver board that failed (the backlight is a thin tiny florecent light bulb that often doesn't go bad, but the high-voltage driver circuit does). It's not always easy to replace, but often cheaper than a whole new LCD panel.

Hello everyone.
Today I found out that my screen laptop won't turn on some reason that I don't know, it's a HP 530 bought 6 months ago. I know it's not the video card cause I can see what's in my laptop if I plug a desktop monitor in it.
I think my laptop doesn't recognize the screen anymore.
I hope this screen shot helps to figure out the issue.
