NDP Jack Layton thanks P2Pnet.net and the online community

People2Poeple Power

NDP major Jack Layton has become the first leader of a major Canadian political party to acknowledge the importance of P2P People Power, using the Net to carry his message.

“We don’t want to see hidden fees and gouging and service slow-downs all in the interests of promoting the objectives of certain large corporations,” he says in a YouTube statement, exclusive to p2pnet.

“This election gives us a real opportunity to put issues like Net Neutrality and reasonable copyright on the election agenda.”

Note: this is a cross post from the Bell forum and the TekSavvy forum, But I thought since this is one of the first times a political leader thanked the online community, it was worth a cross post.

Not to mention it was the people from all these forums (DSLreports) that got this party moving on the neutrality debate in parliament.
