It can be waived if, for example, the customer lives 50 miles from the nearest center. <br><br>You won't believe how many customers who are disconnected for non-pay and never return the equipment - but are actually entitled to a refund if they did! I have seen accounts where they are owed $50-$100 dollars, but because they never gave back the equipment, they owe Comcast $300-$500 dollars instead.]]></description>

If you order over the phone you might get the installation fee waived but you won't get the low price offer. Your best bet would probably see if you can talk to a live chat rep online before completing the order about getting it waived, otherwise just call when you get the first bill and dispute the extra charge. If you're already paying the $30 and are only looking to get the $17 waived, I doubt it would be much of a problem. ]]></description>

That being said, for truly unusual situations or serious hardship, arrangements can sometimes be made on a case-by-case basis, but "just doesn't want to drive to the Comcast office" isn't going to fit either of those conditions ;)]]></description>

Qwest is ok but I can only 1.5 down and some down time. As it's been mention before it depends on the area. Some will let you pick up the box some won't for a new install. As in my case I had everything Installed but since it was a new install they wanted to make sure the signal is ok. Good thing it was not connected at the pedestal.
