Re: [Verizon] LG Chocolate 3 (VX8560) not so good?

Well update. I went back to Verizon last month and they gave me a new phone. Same problem.

Then I checked around HowardForums.com and other cell phone websites. It seems that this is a problem with this model phone. Many report having the dreaded "no ring straight to voicemail" phenomenon. Many people are hoping it will be fixed in a firmware update.

I have v4 firmware. There is a v5 firmware but I don't know if it fixes the problem. I have not had the time to check it yet.

I have been having the same issues with my Chocolate 3. I thought it was only me. I have missed so many calls already. My phone never rings, but I get a voicemail. I have even checked to see if these calls appear as missed calls on my online statement, but they are non existent. I went back to my LG8300 and have not missed a call since. I want to get a new phone, but they want to repace it with the Chocolate 3 again, and I don't want it. I'm getting disgusted very quickly!!

Try anyway. Tell them if they want to keep your business they had better do something about it.

You might try returning it to Verizon and getting a different phone. Missing calls gets old really quick!

Yeah. my kids have my 8300 so no going back for me either. No way do they want to trade back.

I wonder if it is something with the phone or if it indeed does just not get as good a signal. I wonder if it just loses it sometimes and that's why it gets the voicemail beep?

If so then *maybe* it is a bug and will/could be fixed with a software/firmware upgrade.

I upgraded to the 8560 from the 8300 as well. The reception is not as good for me either. I just attributed it to smaller size and lack of external antenna. I don't get many dropped calls, but I have had the "voicemail beep in with no call" issue happen on multiple occasions. I already sold my old 8300, so no going back... :-(

I had a VX8300 and I just recently *upgraded* to a Chocolate3 (VX8560 I think its called?) and my signal level is not as good as my old VX8300. Every once in a while my phone beeps to let me know that I have a voice mail message. But my phone never rang! It just went straight to voicemail! I look at the phone and my signal level will be zero. No bars. Nada. Then bam its back and I am getting 3 bars.

This always seems to happen around my house. But I gave my old VX8300 to my kids and they get great signal at the house and never drop a call.

Anyone else have a Chocolate3? Getting worse reception than wit your old phone?
