I have an Anxiety Attack scheduled for next Thursday, with a Panicky Episode to follow the next morning. I plan to unwind that night with a little Light Paranoia followed by snacks and a fizzy beverage.

Scheduling really is everything.

The general populace isn't panicked, they're angry on principle but really they haven't been too terribly affected yet. They likely won't really feel the effects till people start getting laid off because their company can't get a short term loan and thus don't really have the ability to do anything. Places aren't going to go down in a blaze of glory, they're going to slow burn.
I understand what you're saying, but to add a little bit of perspective to my statement, I was just recently laid off (as well as my whole department) after 15+ years of service.

It's starting to effect companies. If you don't see that now (with over 700K job loss this year alone), then I'm not sure what will bring you to the point where you acknowledge that the problem has already made its presence known.

If you ever go West...McGregor, Anthony Road, Atwater Estate, Red Newt. Each has it's specialty. Oh, never mind. Just follow the Keuka and Seneca wine trails.

Totally agree. I am going to drive out east and visit a few wineries. I think this is "Drink to forget weekend" out there.
OK, your turn to cover the east side of NY. I covered the west side of NY last week (Finger Lakes).
Yup...Martha Clara, Pindar, Duckwalk....here I come.

we stand precariously on the edge of a knife and our only hope of survival is that no one panics.
Panic has already manifested itself, it's just a question of whether panic will continue or people step back and look at the situation soberly.

Your guess is as good as mine.

somehow, try to have some faith that we'll get through...
I have faith that I will be ok, even if it's only through much prayer. I have little faith that we the world will be ok, largely because the world is confronting greed with more greed and thinking that that will fix the problem; when what needs to happen is we all cinch up our belts and take a more realistic view of life. Our lives are going to change drastically and we can either accept it now or try to stave it off till it violently seizes us and drags us down.

Shoulda been doing it 6 months ago when it might have mattered. At this point you're just going to do more harm than good, we stand precariously on the edge of a knife and our only hope of survival is that no one panics.

No such luck here in Canada. Our election day is next Tuesday, right after our Thanksgiving holiday. The politicians will be busy this weekend trying to hold on to their jobs!

I completely disagree with your beliefs, but I'll tell you what, it's nice to see someone has much passion about it as you apparently do. Good for you.

That is, of course, unless I missed the /sarcasm tags.
I prefer this outlook on life:
"It's never easy And it's never clear Who's to navigate And who's to steer So you flounder drifting ever near the rocks"....
Well that ain't too hard to say, is it?
