Re: It's the economy, stupid! said by maartena:foreclosure into a rental may be happy with just broadcast TV and a cheap $19.95 DSL for the time being. I used to think the way you did, about 5 years ago, i had to sell my home and rent. Truth is, while the DSL is nice for mixed media, try watching just a non HD movie on one computer and your lucky others in the house can just bring up webpages. I took kindof that route but it gets boring, so i got a dvd player and started to watch movies, renting them through Netflix. Not before long, i caved in and got cable, I thought I would find it a ripoff but I am so glad I went back to it. My deal is the triplay and 2 dvd's a month netflix, a nice mix to keep from getting bored.
I was still bored, my sister had cable at the time in her nearby apartment and one of the things I have come to find about cable is that there really is plenty to watch, cable & internet together really fill in that void. Rentals are good but predictable, another words, after that 2 hrs is up on the movie its not let me change the channel and cable guides me, its hmmm, what do i watch now, i've already seen this, and this, and this.
