Re: DLP color wheel squeeking said by Sentinel:Is this something I can do or will I end up having to take it to a TV repairman anyway? It seems as though my colors are fine. It looks like it is the blacks or dark areas, that are the problem. The dark areas seem to have what looks like oil slicks or shiny areas that break up. thats because changing the colorwheel is very similar to changing a timing belt/chain on a car, it will run, but not up to 100% performance until its timing is calibrated. so, what youre seeing is the timing of the each color glass pie on the colorwheel, is slightly off. you could do this and i could guide you through it, can you provide me with the complete model number and a version if possible ? the sticker is located on the right front side of the unit. the reason i ask is so i can provide you with a powerpoint slide on calibration if necessary. thanks. |
