Like forcing apple to let there software, UI, guide and more run on the box / tv.
Making you pay $3 - $4+ /m for a $50 card.
POS software that crashes the box from time to time.
Bad firmware updates that the cable co forces out that mess up your tv / box.
Lock down that does not let DVR shows be Networked to other boxes / tvs.
Only supporting 3rd party dvr's that are on a list that they control like they do with people who want to use there own cable modem.
Lack of care for the system like they have with there cable card system.
Shows and other stuff that will only work on a cable co box.
and that is just from the cable co side.
Apple will also have to go up with TIVO.
How will apple get people on u-verse, dish, and Direct TV???
Direct TV is going with TIVO.
APPLE will need a E-sata port on this and / or a easy to replace hd that people can put a bigger one as well. |

All they have to do is CAP your broadband and put in overage charges.
That would do more to nuke this idea in it's infancy then anything else--- which is EXACTLY the point.

| Bottom line, I would think no matter what combination of services we order, we are paying for a line from the telcom/cable company and how they choose to price their services in the future probably depends on what we choose.
If I put apples, oranges and bananas out for people to eat unlimited for $100/mo and most start eating the bananas, guess what, im going to move more of the cost to the bananas. |
