If you have been with Telus for over 6 months, you will be charged $45 to $50 like everyone else if you are using their Extreme service.

The people being charged $35 are on the 6 month promotion before the $50 charge comes into effect. Telus doesn't owe you a refund at all if you have been using their services for over 6 months and just got off the promotion. Get use to it, this goes for anyone that uses their services.

Thats not entirely accurate, I recently signed up and its 30.95 for the first 12 months and 35.95 after that (that includes the 5 dollar long distance subscriber discount).. 45 Bucks is a bit steep, but this shady practice is used everywhere.. they don't notify clients that they've lowered prices, hoping the clueless don't call them on it. Most won't make it retroactive.. well unless you threaten to leave.
