Possibly not. Apple can deeply discount the hardware banking on VOD revenues from iTunes.
They *could*, but they don't. They can also discount the iPod, but they choose not to.

Apple would never do that because there's no guarantee of any revenue from someone buying the TV. With cell phones you get discounted handsets because you're forced to subscribe for x number of years. There's a guarantee that the cell carriers will make the money back. With this TV if they discounted it then there'd be absolutely no guarantee of getting any money back.

Uh huh and I'm saying they'd never discount a TV banking on people buying stuff from iTunes like the mobile carriers discount phones.
