Often people just want to get rid of the stuff, not bring it back inside, and will tell you to just take it. You might be hard pressed to find yard sales in Boston proper.<br>Another good time & place to find free stuff is when the college year ends. Most students don't take apartment furniture when they leave.<br><br>Craigslist is always a good place to look.<br><br>Does the town/city you're in have a free store?<br><small>--<br>Traveling 33 RPM in an iPod world.<br><br><br></small>]]></description>

The trash guys don't tend to bother things that are distinctly put on the opposite side of the driveway from the trash.<br><br>My daughter has a great kitchen table with four chairs that someone in her neighborhood put out, and when we cleaned out our garage, the things that we put on the left side of the driveway went in a hurry. One fellow was really excited to get bikes for his two kids.<br><br>If you pick a really nice day before it gets too cold and head out early in the South Shore (or similar) area, you prolly wouldn't have to do a great deal of driving to find some OK stuff.<br><br>Also note that there are always tag sales, driveway sales, etc. on the nice weekends.
