 | Personally I found Wi-Fi on the phone to be a gimmick at best. It's just not ready for prime-time.
Primary issues:
•Battery life. OMG...this has to be addressed. Wi-Fi kills ANY phone using it. •Not all devices support WPA and/or WPA2, security issue. •Devices don't support Wireless G or N, speed issue. •Devices don't support hotspot logins, limiting usability unless it's a T-mobile Hotspot, which the majority are not (i.e. hotels). •Switching between GSM and Wi-Fi is still imperfect; calls dropping.
I'm glad this doesn't have Wi-Fi. I am quite happy with EVDO as it is. I just wish the limits on speeds were lifted so we can take advantage of true throughput, but eh well. |
