I'm not too sure if the MTU figure matters much because I know of some people who run with a different number without any major issues.
You're not going to get the same exact speed as to what you subscribe to, that's plain fact. At best you're going to get maybe 70% to 70% of the advertised speed provided.
Downloads are also very2 subjective as it depends on the bandwidth of the host you're trying to obtain downloads from among others.

| [Broadband] My 768 kbps speed only have a maximum 25 KB/sec down
hello!
My advertised speed is 768 kbps but my maximum download speed is only 25 KB/sec. I don't think that is normal. Can someone tell me how to find the problem? I have done the recommendation results of my tweak tester and the line quality test. Here is the link:

can someone also tell me how to change my MTU in my VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter. I noticed that the MTU in the WAN (PPP) interface is 1480 but in the VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter, MTU is 1500.
Does it have to be the same number?
Information: OS: Windows XP sp2 PPPoE-> Ethernet Lan Card: VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter Advertised speed: 768 kbps Wired ADSL Router: ADSL Barricade SMC 7801BRA ISP: DSL Broadband from Bayantel
Please someone help me. If you need my line statistics or the transceiver stats, just tell me. thanks |
