Re: Rogers is changing the Better Choice Bundles plan

I've about had 'nuff of these goons! If mine changes I'm off their cable TV for good! Have to stay on their internet as here in the sticks there's no alternative but at least I'll have the satisfaction of giving Teddy-Bob the finger on at least one of his services! (Did it once before a few years back, went to Bell Express Vu, but ended up switching back, was a case of the "devil you know vs. the devil you don't". However, if I leave this time it will be for good! There are other alternatives out there now that weren't around last time I dumped Rogers.) And in another three years I won't need the internet either, so at that time I'll get the privilege of giving it the heave-ho! (Maybe by then there'll be another alternative to this bandit!)

How old is this news, Sbrook, when it just appeared in the Saturday, October 11, 2008 edition of the Toronto Star.

"Old News" to Mr. Brook 'cause he saw it last year in his crystal ball.....

All I know is I have a discount with only two services, cable and internet. If that discount goes south, so do I where I can....the cable..

Old news for new customers but now it is going to apply to old customers that had the discount. It will no longer apply
for old customers. You will have to get 4 services for the 15% to apply

Its quite quite old actually! When i moved into my house in 06 it took 4 services to get 15% not 2. Its been this way for a long long time.

Thanks. I believe what you'll see in the next year is Rogers attempting to encourage their customer's to take advantage of the Home Advantage package and eventually eliminating the Better Bundles packages.

I'm currently under a Better Bundles contract where I have 15% off on 3 services. Does this mean I'm safe until my contract's over or can they still change me to 10% off?

Re: Rogers is changing the Better Choice Bundles plan

As soon as your contract ends you will no longer qualify for the 15% off. They will send you a notice about 30 days before the end

I have had the 15% "Better Choice Bundle" discount on only two services (TV & internet) since at least June/05 (as far back as I have saved bills). Rogers has not yet notified me of stopping it either.

I get the impression from The Star article that if you call in, and "commit" to another two years, you will be "grandfathered" on the discount. That's just speculation on my part of course but if/when I get a notice I plan to make the call with that expectation.

Re: Rogers is changing the Better Choice Bundles plan

it's weird because just a few months ago I called rogers about adding my cellphone to the better choice bundles plan. I only had cable tv and internet with them prior to bundling. They had no trouble adding my cellphone service onto my grandfathered 15% plan and renewing it for a year(this was retentions though). I even confirmed on my bill that it was, indeed, 15% off. I guess customers that go through retentions follow different rules or something.
