I've gotten in the habit of disregarding every statistic the MAFIAA come up with (or, more probably, make up).

"Earlier this year RIAA President Cary Sherman, when he wasn't suggesting that AV software should scan for pirated material, hinted that there would be less piracy if users simply knew what they were doing was illegal." It's pretty hard for users to know what is illegal when the MAFIAA constantly makes an effort to obfuscate both the law and the facts.
