Re: Help - how to downgrade this laptop to WinXP? said by Greg_Z:Norton is always fully installed, but as a 60 day trial. Hmm...the HP desktop I was eying had NIS installed for 15 months.
I've had these guys in GRC NGs insist Norton is not fully installed ...that is their experience ...yours is that it IS fully installed for a 60 day trial and when I configured this HP machine included was the NIS for 15 months that could not be declined.
Gee, I guess I will need to call HP and ask. I configured the machine on their home users site. I'm sure on their Business site a machine can be had with no AV included but I didn't see the machines I'd want on their Business site...not like Dell which includes the better consumer machines on their Small Business site. -- "The same ferocity that our founders devoted to protect the freedom and independence of the press is now appropriate for our defense of the freedom of the internet.
