Westell 6100 and Linksys WRT100.

Hi,

For years (since 2004 or so) I've had DSL 1.5 meg service on a Westell 6100 modem with only one computer.

I have a wireless laptop now and so I bought a Linksys WRT100 router.

I know how to bridge the Westell and use the Linksys to do PPPoE but I don't want to do that because then I'd lose access to my modem statistics.

How can I set the router up without losing access to the Westell's internal pages?

THANKS!

Set the Linksys so its LAN address is 192.168.2.1. This is to avoid conflict with the 192.168.1.* used by the 6100.

Once you have made that change, it will probably work with the other settings at default values.

I would still allow the westell to do the PPPoE and also set the westell modem for IP Passthrough
IP Passthrough
The router needs its IP address changed to 192.168.2.1 and its Internet connection type set to automatic configuration dhcp
