Newly designed Yahoo! homepage??

Over the weekend and today still I am getting redirected to a newly designed homepage for Yahoo! at

»m.www.yahoo.com/

Who else is seeing this and what do you think about the newly formatted design?

Looks different to me
It has more flash based content and reminds me of the Comcast home page

[EDIT] after doing a little research I found this article:»www.techcrunch.com/2008/09/17/ya···and-new/
For the longest I had Yahoo set as my homepage but only until recently have I come across the new design.

F.W.I.W I had to take a screen shot of Singapore's homepage just to demonstrate what layout I was seeing last week.

The link you posted is what I've been seeing for a long time.I have Yahoo as my home page.If anyrhing changed,it must have been a while back.

Yes I am getting m.www.yahoo.com instead of www.yahoo.com, and not as my home page. I just can't get www.yahoo.com no matter what I do. I even went to Yahoo international:
»world.yahoo.com/
..and from there I can get Canada Yahoo
»ca.yahoo.com/
.. but not U.S. Yahoo www.Yahoo.com.
For a while I just used Canada Yahoo, because it's close enough, but now I have just purged all references to Yahoo. I really don't need it, there are plenty of alternatives. Plus I definitely don't need websites that play silly games like this.

I get yahoo.com on internet explorer 7 and m.www.yahoo.com with Firefox. So far I can't find a way to stop the redirect as I much prefer the classic interface.

Re: Newly designed Yahoo! homepage??

F.W.I.W, I'm using the Open DNS servers. The past few days I only seen the new design maybe 2 out of the 20 times I visited Yahoo!'s home page. Last week almost every time I was redirected to »m.www.yahoo.com/ and this week I still get the old version. Weird.

Maybe there is issues people are complaining about and they are stopping the redirects. Unlike Comcast where the homepage was COMPLETELY replaced leaving 1000's of people complaining about their homepage not load properly.

Re: Newly designed Yahoo! homepage??

If you want the old yahoo type in 209.131.36.158 into the address bar. This will bring you to the classic home page.

Re: Newly designed Yahoo! homepage??

It's random for me. 9 times out of 10 I see the old page. I don't know why I'm not getting the old page again. If I try to go to »m.yahoo.com/ I only get redirected to »www.yahoo.com/?nm=1

To me i think every one is trying to go to the latest fad the Vista look. and more flash content so that it is harder to block. BS if you ask me.

I hope all the Old people really start calling and complaing to whomever As they are the ones that are not used to change and find the new stuff hard to browse around Like »nbc5i.com you can no longer find a damn thing on that website.

@optonline.net

I had yahoo set to my homepage on both firefox, and ie. I was able to block m.www.yahoo.com in IE, but not in firefox. I downloaded a couple of blockers, but they wont allow the old yahoo website on either, so that was a waste of time. One of the posts suggested using 209.131.36.158 in the address bar-guess what, that worked! Thanks man! I set my homepage in firefox to that address, and it works like a charm! Damn, I hated that new version of yahoo's homepage. I would suggest complaining as much as you can. For some odd reason, there are people who like the new version, though I haven't personally met anyone yet who does.

Re: Newly designed Yahoo! homepage??

What you're being redirected to is the yahoo mobile device home page. I'm using a netbook (Acer Aspire One) and for some reason i was being redirected to the mobile site as well. Somehow yahoo randomly picks up certain devices are mobile and sets a cookie or temp file that automatically redirects to the mobile site. if you clear all your cookies and temp internet files it should revert back to www.yahoo.com

I am experiencing the same thing - no matter what I do I keep getting redirected to this weird m.www.yahoo.com

At work I have a mac and I don't have the problem there, nor does my husband who has a PC.

If you have IE 7, to fixed this, add »m.www.yahoo.com/ to your blocked site. After wards when you go on yahoo, it will go back to the orginal layout. Afterwards, remove »m.www.yahoo.com/ from your blocked site, and it wont appear again.

ChaTeck

@comcast.net
Simple fix: restrict m.www.yahoo.com go to
tools
internet Options
Security
Restricted Sites
sites
m.www.yahoo.com
