What are they doing?

It seems insane to me that any telco is still rolling out anything but pure fiber. It will just come back and hurt them in the long run. ADSL2+ can't even come close to competing with DOCSIS 3.0 or FTTH.

it already has if they would have been thinking ahead instead of spending millions bilking copper they could already have miles of fiber up and then they would have been able to at least provide 1.5 dsl to millions of people that will never be able to get dsl or uverse with the severe limitations of copper.

not to mention that many of those people will never be able to get cable, and they could have just about all of those customers.i know because i am in one of those areas that cable stops 2 miles from me,and dsl stops 1 mile from me.charter said they will never extend to me without me paying thousands for the lines, and dsl cant reach me without remote dslams and removing the old load coils

i know that a lot of places are just way to spread out to be cost effective for tellco and cable, but if tellcos would have thought ahead they could have been stringing fiber, and been able to reach thousands of more people that would love to have at least 768 or 1.5 dsl i think they are a bunch of idiots and will never compete with cable on speeds.they will wake up one day and bite the bullet and start stringing fiber that's the only hope for them
