| Beautiful Day in the NW 'hood What a beautiful first day of 2002 in Portland. Pouring down (well actually more diagonal) rain and 40 deg. So we went water skiing on the Willamette, a tradition I've participated in for the past 6 years. Kinda cold, but the Bailey's and coffee helped keep us warm.
And yesterday I spent skiing on Mt Hood. Gotta like a place where you can get so much use out of the various forms of water.
Anybody else do something interesting for first day of '02? |

Yeah, well, I'll tell you, at 10 am this morning, I'd much rather have been in bed than getting soggy in the boat ramp parking lot...but I had to bring the skis. |

I'm glad to see the rain again here. It's been missing for a week, and I was afraid we'd be stricken with another drought 
We slept in, then stayed in bed watching TV and drinking coffee until late morning. Took the tree down and put all the decorations away. Back to school for the kid tomorrow already (woo hoo!) and to the dentist for me at 8 AM to get a root canal. What a way to start the year
