To a point they would.

I live in chicago and i have a very close friend who has Verizon. I always compare how my Tmobile phone has better reception and that Att is also better (i work for att so i like to bust him out when i can).

One day while i was at his apartment he called in to say he cannot get service where he lives in chicago. They told him "they would look into it..." 3 days later he got a letter in the mail a crew would look into it further. 2 weeks later there was a new cell tower on the church 2 blocks away from his house and he got another letter in the mail askin him if he was satisfied.

I dont like verizon. BUT i was impressed by this service.

Opinion is just a word people hide behind to try and justify them believing stupid things. It sure is easy to believe in something completely and totally stupid, say it's your "Opinion" and then everyone has to respect it.

I've had Nextel do the same thing for me as well.. but it was in a city proper neighborhood where there is a high concentration of users.

McCain, from what I gather, lives in the boondocks. I'm sure if you looked at the service map, he's probably either out side the coverage area, or in one of those areas where the disclaimer "service areas as shows is approximate" and he's outside the approximate area.

Two things:

1) by not improving his service, they could have thought that he'd take it as an issue and wund up supporting legislation to force providers to advance and expand their service - which would be costly to them.

2) by giving him service, he sees the provider in good light and go along his merry way thinking "these cellular providers would do this for anyone, so there is no issue" and give them a pass moving forward.

The problem is that they are giving him special favor to HOW they are going about this.. presidential candidate or not.

Again, for 200 years, elections were conducted with out cell phones, and for some of that time, there were no phones.

Honestly, a candidate doesn't need to be in as much "touch" as they appear to be. Being always connected is part of the science of being elected these days. All they need to do is tell the American people what they stand for and their plans and shut up... the people will decide. Being connected for every word being said so they can react and form some kind of reply to spin the issue is not something I really care about for them.

Elections, as it is anyway, have gotten WAY out of hand.

As AT&T the phone company once said.. pick up the phone and reach out.. reach out and touch someone.. which was done with a land line.

Which home? He's got 'em all over.

I always talk according to the context and topic at hand.. so I'm speaking of the house in the middle of nowhere.

This is the main reason I see they did this. Sort of like, "Look how attentive we are to our customers." That and being nice to the press people who spend who knows how much on cell phone service themselves.

That was back in the day when long distance was expensive.
