Getting FIOS TV installed on 11/09 in Gresham. I've already had 15/2 internet since it's been available and now can switch from Comcast to Verizon for TV.

Mike Rogoway's Silicon Forest blog »blog.oregonlive.com/siliconfores···_on.html is reporting:

"Gresham has put off an Oct. 21 vote on Verizon's cable franchise after the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission approved an oversight regime that Verizon says it can't accept.

Eric Chambers, assistant to Gresham Mayor Shane Bemis, told me this week the city council wants more times to study its options, which might include...

• Accepting the cable commission's recommendation and putting the ball in Verizon's court

• Splitting with the commission's recommendation and negotiating its own terms with Verizon

• Doing nothing at all

Eric said Gresham isn't getting a lot of pressure from residents on the issue, but that the city council hopes to set a direction by year-end."

Just might be time to call the city and let them know your thoughts.
