Please see my posts here about the findings left over in updating still - I ended up uninstalling all versions on several OS's and reinstall of latest version offline in order to assure Java worked correctly and the correct versions of dll's were being used.
As in - the new install didn't completely remove the dll's of old versions making a java speedtest state there was no java installed at all until it was corrected.
Just my experience with 3 different OS and Java versions installed so far.
