 | Whining, BS, and never the full story As always, a bunch of whiners who don't even research the full story. While they always had crappy cell coverage in their area, they never pursued or used influence to get special treatment. It was until McCain started his Presidential Campaign that the "SECRET SERVICE" requested improved cell coverage for safety and security issues. These concerns are considered for all candidates. Also, what most people don't know, is that Cindy "DONATED LAND" free of charge for Verizon to install a new tower. After much research, Verizon realized that a permanent tower on her property wouldn't be the most efficient means of their network. So, to address the IMMEDIATE security and safety needs of a presidential candidate, they installed a portable unit. ATT followed suit with a portable unit of their own. This is because Verizon's CDMA and ATT GSM networks aren't compatible, and this way any cell phone could operate in the area. Now, after the election and the needs are reduced, if verizon and ATT leave their portable units there, people can b*tch if they want. Until then, I suggest some people know what their talking about before they start their whining. I worked with the federal government during the 1988 campaign. (Unfortunately, I was providing support for Jessie Jackson). There are certain requirements that presidential candidates require. That's life. | | | As one guy said earlier, they dont need cell phones. Candidates 50-100 yrs ago did just fine without them. We can all live without cell phones we just choose not to. If the need was that important, maybe they should have used satallite phones instead. Im pretty sure they have the money to cover the cost or they could just make taxpayers foot the bill(they bill us for everything else).
But thats just my opinion..If he can get VZW or ATT to put a twr wherever he needed it then more pwr to him.I may not like it or think its right but if I had that pwr I would do it to as would most people. | |
