The modem is not like a dial up modem...it doesn't dial in to your ISP but rather the dsl service has to be enabled using the telephone line as a "carrier"...like a data line. In order for you to use your service you have to have it on the telephone line in the house. You can order what is called a "dry loop" dsl service from Sympatico. The wireless connection only replaces the wire to your router but your router needs a viable DSL service on the line it is connected to. -- My Canada includes Quebec. |
