| [Internet] Slow Download Speeds Hey everyone,
I recently upgraded from Bell Internet Essential Plus which is 2 Mbps to Bell Internet Performance which is 7 Mbps.
Now for some reason, my download speed is still capped at 120kb/s.
The only reason for my upgrade was to be able to download faster, and now I'm not able to.
I ran a speed test at speedtest.net and here are the results.
Should I call bell and find out why I'm capped at 120kb/s or see if I can figure it out myself? |

| Post your line stats. If you are using the 2wire modem, your line stats are available here: »192.168.2.1/xslt?PAGE=J45
This will tell you what speed you're capped at, what your line can support, etc.
Find these values and post them here:
twdsm.attenuation_ds
twdsm.attenuation_us
twdsm.margin_ds
twdsm.margin_us
twld.ds_capped_rate |

Only thing that shows up is Connection, Connection information, System Summary.
System Type: SpeedStream 4200-Series
Don't know if that will help any. |

| They probably didn't bump your profile up yet.
Or they sold you something you can't get in your area.
Its one or the other.
make a post in the direct forum (» Bell Canada Direct) or put yourself through Bell-hell by calling 310-surf. |

At 120KB/sec, he was never on a 2mbps profile (i dont even know if Bell actually has one, I never seen evidence of it, or do they just slap on 2496 one).
120KB/sec is 1184 profile.

Though I doubt that because of the 32ms ping.

It's UP TO 7mbps. You pay them for the 7mbps but you actually get seemingly 1 mbit. |
